Unique in the USA, Louisiana is home to over 100,000 French speakers and the language has official protection, though the number of Louisiana French speakers was in decline until recently. Donc, nous avons établi des partenariats internationaux avec des universités de premier plan dans le monde francophone pour bénéficier de notre héritage français louisianais unique et pour élargir les opportunités bilingues. (Therefore, we have established international partnerships in the French-speaking world for the benefit of our unique Louisiana French heritage and for increased bilingual opportunities). Our first partner is Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, part of the Université de Lyon with whom we are developing study abroad opportunities in Medical French as well as broader education in kinesiology and sport management.
If you want to geaux change lives in awesome careers in health, fitness or sport, the School of Kinesiology @LSU is the place for you! Geaux Tigers!
