About Us

The Bert S. Turner Department of Construction Management is dedicated to providing the construction industry with a graduate ready to accept the challenges of today's global market. As a student in the program, you will receive an extensive education designed to prepare you to manage the construction process successfully. Students will take courses in engineering, construction, design, and business. This interdisciplinary approach gives our students greater flexibility and makes them very marketable to employers.

Our graduates enter the construction industry in various positions with the ability to lead, problem solves, and use innovative applications on their projects. They quickly become valued members of a construction team and participate in planning, cost estimating, scheduling, supervision, and commissioning of a complete facility in a timely, safe, and quality manner.

Our construction management undergraduate degree program was established in 1972 and has been accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) since 1982. The ACCE has accredited the construction management MS graduate program since 2016.

The Louisiana State University Construction Industry Advisory Council (CIAC) was established in 1997 to help build LSU's Construction Management (CM) Department into the premier training ground for construction managers. From socials to skills training, the CIAC involves students well before graduation with programs that give them the skill sets they need to make a real impact as soon as they enter the work force.

As ambassadors for the Department, CSA strives to advance the education, experience, and employability of its members by fostering professional and peer networking, to provide enhanced opportunities for professional education, and to promote the student agenda to the CM department.
